The Grinling Gibbons Society is an association of woodcarvers (and other specialty woodworkers), both professional and amateur, and their patrons, formed to advance the highest standards of artistry in custom architectural woodworking and woodworking design. Our activities include promoting the sale of the best work of our Artisan Members; staging exhibitions and other events to display their pieces and to encourage the production of designs which might not otherwise find outlets; publishing a Journal to investigate the best models of the past and celebrate the most exciting new efforts, publishing a Newsletter for Artisan Members; and undertaking Projects to make outstanding pieces available to our Patron Members at the most reasonable possible prices. We have been active in some local areas since 1980, and are now seeking to expand our presence and membership nationally.
